Toddler dies at daycare, and three more are hospitalized in possible fentanyl ingestion

NEW YORK CITY, NY – A horrifying event took place at a local daycare center on Friday. One child lost their life, while three others are currently in the hospital. The cause of the incident is believed to be fentanyl ingestion, a potent and often deadly opioid, although this has not been officially confirmed by the police.

Late Friday afternoon, a frantic 911 call was placed, reporting four unresponsive children at the Divino Niño Daycare center. The children, aged between 7 months and 2 years, had collapsed without warning, prompting the emergency call.

The New York Post has reported that the authorities are looking into the possibility that the children may have ingested fentanyl. However, the New York Police Department has yet to officially confirm this.

One of the hospitalized children required the administration of Narcan, a drug used to counteract the effects of an opioid overdose, according to FOX 5 New York. The identities of the children involved have not been released, and the investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.

Sadly, the 1-year-old boy did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other three children, two 2-year-old boys and a 7-month-old girl, are currently being treated at local hospitals.
