PLEASANTON, CA – A fatal car accident that claimed the lives of a local family in Pleasanton, California. The family members were revealed to be couple Tarun and Rincy George, and their two young children by close family friend Anjali Maski.
The tragedy unfolded on Wednesday night around 9 p.m., when the family, returning home from a birthday celebration, veered off the road and collided with a tree, erupting into a series of powerful blasts. Despite local authorities not officially releasing the identities, Maski confirmed the victims’ identities.
The shocking event was immediate and loud, drawing attention from residents close to the scene. Larry Lai, who was outside his home just off Foothill Boulevard, recounted hearing sirens soon after the terrifying sounds of the explosive crash.
Responses of deep grief and sympathy have poured in from the tight-knit community. Both the tree that the family’s vehicle hit and their home has been adorned with flowers and messages of condolence. The couple’s two children, students at local schools Donlon Elementary and Hart Middle School, are being remembered by friends and fellow students who are struggling to make sense of their sudden loss.
Grief counselors were stationed at the two schools to offer support to students grappling with the heartbreaking incident. Speed remains a possible contributing factor to the crash, and investigations are still ongoing.
