Teen reported missing now charged with murder

GARLAND, TX – A Texas teenager, who was the subject of a recent Amber Alert, now faces murder charges, according to local police. The 17-year-old girl and another suspect, who remains on the run, are implicated in the death of a 21-year-old man.

The police in Garland, a suburb of Dallas, have identified two suspects in the murder of Arturo Pena, a resident of Mesquite, that took place on August 29. Natalie Navarro, the 17-year-old, and Yordy Martinez, 21, have had arrest warrants issued against them for murder.

Navarro, who had disappeared from an apartment complex, triggering an Amber Alert, was later found by law enforcement. She is currently safe and in police custody, authorities confirmed.

Martinez, however, is still at large and is wanted for murder. The police have not provided additional details about the search for Martinez or the specifics of the murder case.
