ROSWELL, GA – A year-long investigation in North Fulton County has led to the discovery of a human trafficking and prostitution network, according to local law enforcement. The operation was unveiled at a news conference on Friday, where the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and local police detailed the extent of the criminal enterprise.
Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis described the operation as being “hidden in plain sight.” Police executed raids on four massage parlors in Roswell: Alpha Massage, Ease Massage, Enjoy Massage, and Iris Massage. Additional search warrants were served at Barefoot Massage in Sandy Springs and Rose Massage in northeast Atlanta.
Authorities believe that all six locations are interconnected. The investigation targeted the individuals believed to be at the helm of the operation. Three arrests have been made so far: Wei Cheng Huang, 56, Yan Lin, 41, and Lin Chen, 36. The trio faces charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and labor trafficking.
Roswell Police Chief James Conroy reported that nearly two dozen young women, all adults, were rescued from these locations. The city of Roswell, in collaboration with Fulton County and private victim’s advocate groups, has taken steps to ensure the victims receive necessary support and safe housing.
Details about how the victims were controlled or their immigration status have not been disclosed as the investigation is ongoing. Roswell Mayor Kurt Wilson praised the collaborative effort, stating it was a significant step in combating such criminal activities. The six locations are temporarily closed, and further arrests are anticipated. If three convictions are secured, the city of Roswell has the authority to permanently shut down these businesses.
