KENNER, LA – A standoff with a suspected shooter led to three police officers being wounded in Kenner, Louisiana, on Sunday, according to local authorities. The suspect is believed to be responsible for shooting three other individuals in the past week.
The wounded officers were promptly transported to a nearby hospital following the Sunday morning incident, which took place in a residential area approximately 15 miles west of New Orleans. Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley confirmed the incident but did not provide immediate updates on the officers’ conditions.
Despite the tense situation, a SWAT team remained stationed outside the home into Sunday afternoon. At the time of reporting, no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.
The individual believed to have shot the officers is also suspected of involvement in a separate shooting incident earlier on Sunday, which resulted in two additional victims. Kenner police spokesman Capt. Michael Cunningham further linked the suspect to a robbery and shooting that occurred on Tuesday, leaving one man critically injured.
