Unresponsive man found shot on highway ramp

ATLANTA, GA – After a man was found shot on Friday afternoon near North Druid Hills Road close to Interstate 85, investigators are now seeking the public’s assistance in their search for the perpetrator. Information from passing motorists who used the route between 4 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. could prove essential in cracking the case.

The incident led to the closure of the southbound I-85 on-ramp for several hours, although the ramp has since reopened.

According to emergency call logs, a passerby alerted the authorities at approximately 4:20 p.m. about a man who had apparently been hit by a car. When police reached the scene, they initially couldn’t locate the victim. However, guidance from a witness led them to the man who had, by that time, ended up on the interstate entrance ramp.

Upon examination, the victim’s injuries were determined to involve a gunshot wound to the chest rather than an automotive accident, as initially reported. Despite the prompt arrival of medics who attempted to resuscitate him, the man remained unresponsive during the rush to a nearby hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries. The deceased man’s identity hasn’t been disclosed yet.

Investigating authorities are yet to gather any details regarding the shooter and are urging anyone who passed through the area during the incident to come forward with any helpful information.
