Mom shot dead, dad arrested for murder

SEATTLE, WA – A fatal shooting in a Washington state apartment led to a murder charge for a 42-year-old man. The law enforcement officials in Pierce County were first alerted to the incident by a concerned parent who had called 911 for a welfare check.

According to the information given to the police, the parents had expected their daughter to come back with their grandson from her ex-partner’s home in University Place. Unexpectedly, it was not their daughter but the child’s father who returned the boy.

Investigators swung into action after their numerous attempts to contact the woman failed. Upon arrival at the Hillside Glenn Apartment Complex, where the child’s father resided, they noted the woman’s vehicle parked outside. A key was obtained, granting them access to his apartment where they discovered the woman’s lifeless body with an apparent gunshot wound.

Not wasting any time, officers dispatched bulletins to other agencies to facilitate the speedy arrest of the 42-year-old man believed to be responsible.

After dispatchers from South Sound 911 received information concerning a suspicious car parked on a trail in Buckley, they promptly identified it as the vehicle mentioned in the arrest bulletin. This led to the steely standoff between the wanted man and the law enforcement officers at a location on the 13600 block of 300th Ave E.

Given his refusal to comply with the authorities, less lethal rounds were used to breach the vehicle’s window as an attempt to convince him to surrender. It was not until an hour later, after the deployment of a taser, that the man was finally detained.

As at the time of the report, the man was admitted to a hospital to receive clearance before his transfer to Pierce County Jail for booking to face first-degree murder charges.
