Two People Fatally Stabbed At L.A. Shopping Center

A suspect was arrested after two people were fatally stabbed at a Los Angeles County shopping center Thursday.

Police found a woman in the parking lot of the Destination O Eight Shopping Center in Palmdale, north of Los Angeles, shortly before noon.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a man who had been stabbed at least once in another part of the parking lot died at a hospital.

The women who was stabbed multiple times died at the scene.

As of yet, the names of the victims have not been released.

KCBS-TV received a description of the attack from a witness.

“(Someone) stabbed the lady a couple of times in the back, on the side of her ribs, and her stomach as she screamed and ran from the parking lot,” she said.

Treece said the killer “walked away from it, came back and started stabbing her again, then walked away again, came back, kicked her and stabbed her two more times.”

Video footage from the scene shows deputies holding a bearded, shirtless man in a vest and cap.

Neither the motive nor whether the victims knew the suspect were immediately revealed by authorities.

According to authorities, the victims did not appear to be shopping.
