Three men dead and three others wounded in mass shooting in Maryland

The city of Annapolis was left shocked and mourning on Sunday night when tragedy struck and three men lost their lives in a mass shooting.

Police received a call around 8:00 PM to the 1000 block of Paddington Place and discovered six individuals had been shot. All three of the deceased were between the ages of their early twenties to approximately 50.

Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson reported that the incident was not a random act of violence, but the cause of the shooting has not been identified.

Mayor Gavin Buckley said in response “Nothing gets resolved with a gun” and he pleaded with people not to use violence to settle their disputes. Neighbors described hearing gunshots and spotting multiple people in front of the residence.

Currently, a person of interest is in custody, though additional details are not available. Those who have any related information are asked to call the Annapolis Police Department at 410-280-CLUE or Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7LOCKUP.
