Six teens shot at high school party

Bay St. Louis, Mississippi police took Cameron Everett Brand, 19, into custody Sunday morning on murder and aggravated assault charges after a horrific shooting at a house party left two teenagers dead and four others hospitalized.

The victims, all between 15 and 18-years-old and students at either Bay High School or Hancock High School, were found by police with multiple gunshot wounds at about 12:34 a.m. on Sunday in the 100 block of Old Blue Meadow Road.

Four of the victims were transported to hospitals in Slidell and New Orleans via Life Flight helicopter and two were later pronounced dead at University Medical Center.

Brand was arrested without incident in the nearby city of Pass Christian and is now being held in the Hancock County jail without bond.

The Hancock High School responded with grief and support on its Facebook page Sunday, expressing sorrow for the tragedy and offering counseling and resources to students, staff, and the community. They encouraged the community to come together in this tough time to show their love and solidarity in the face of such loss.
