Shooting at event venue leaves 10 people injured

SANFORD, FL – A shocking incident saw at least ten people injured in a shooting that occurred at an event venue in Sanford, Florida. According to officials, the incident occurred at Cabana Live after midnight on Sunday. This venue is located in an unincorporated part of Sanford and was packed with a large crowd at the time of the shooting.

The initial arrival of first responders on the scene was met with the sound of several gunshots. A suspect, a 16-year-old, was apprehended by a security officer present at the venue, as noted in a report detailing the incident.

The shooting allegedly broke out from a verbal altercation that escalated into physical violence. This cause was confirmed by Kim Cannaday, the spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

Of those caught up in the shooting, ten individuals were injured in total. However, the injuries were presumably not life-threatening. The victims were mostly afflicted with wounds in the lower extremities of their bodies.

At present, the charges that the 16-year-old suspect may face have not been disclosed. Cabana Live, in a statement on social media, confirmed its cooperation with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and extended its prayers for all those affected by this unfortunate incident.
