Pizza delivery driver shoots armed robber

HOUSTON, TX – In the early hours of Sunday, a pizza delivery driver in Texas defended himself against an attempted robbery, resulting in the death of the alleged perpetrator, according to local law enforcement.

The driver, employed by an undisclosed pizza establishment, was making a delivery to the Park Yellowstone Apartment Homes in Houston shortly before 12:45 a.m. when he was accosted by a man. The Houston Police Department reports that the man brandished a firearm and demanded cash from the delivery driver.

In a statement from the police, it was detailed that the driver, fearing for his life, drew his own weapon and fatally shot the would-be robber. The delivery driver, who was unharmed, remained at the location and cooperated with the police, providing a statement to the officers who responded to the incident.

In the aftermath of the shooting, homicide investigators are now pursuing a second suspect. This individual is believed to have retrieved a backpack from the scene of the crime. The suspect has been described as a Black male dressed in a white hooded sweater.

The case will be presented to a grand jury by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, as per police.
