Former pastor charged with stealing over $400k

HUNTSVILLE, AL – A former pastor from Huntsville is set to plead guilty to federal wire fraud charges after allegedly misusing church funds for personal luxury expenses. Court documents reveal that Adrian Davis, once the senior pastor of the now-closed Huntsville branch of All Nations Worship Assembly, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars from the church’s coffers on personal items.

The documents indicate that between 2018 and 2020, Davis used church funds to purchase cars, designer shoes, and other luxury items. Specifically, he reportedly bought a $30,000 Audi and a $45,000 GMC SUV, alongside other high-end purchases.

Additionally, Davis is accused of using church money to pay off over $100,000 in personal credit card debt. Among the extravagant purchases were a $4,900 Louis Vuitton item and more than $18,000 in jewelry. The court documents also state that Davis used church funds to pay his mother’s mortgage.

Apart from the wire fraud charges, Davis is also expected to plead guilty to filing a false tax return. In 2021, he allegedly filed a false tax document claiming he earned approximately $138,000 in 2020, while he was aware he had received more.

Davis has signed a plea agreement, which involves pleading guilty to both federal wire fraud and filing a false tax return. As part of the agreement, he will be required to repay over $400,000 to the church and an additional $100,000 to the IRS.

Facing up to 23 years in prison, Davis’s case highlights significant breaches of trust within the religious community. Both the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Davis’s attorney declined to comment when contacted.

Davis is scheduled to appear in federal court for arraignment on October 23.
