Driver chases pedestrians with his car, crashes into a Kohl’s store

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – A driver is now facing felony charges after allegedly striking a group of people with his car and crashing into a Kohl’s store in Huntington Beach last week. The suspect, identified as 54-year-old Tuan Miller from Anaheim, is accused of driving under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident. This shocking event has resulted in a series of serious charges against Miller.

Miller’s charges include six felony counts of attempted murder. He also faces additional felony counts such as driving under the influence and evading an officer. If convicted on all counts, he could potentially face a life sentence behind bars. Miller made his initial court appearance on October 17, and his arraignment has been rescheduled for November 3.

The incident unfolded on October 13 at around 8 p.m. when a group of individuals had gathered outside the Kohl’s department store at the Bella Terra shopping center to listen to a group of singers. Miller is accused of deliberately driving his vehicle onto the sidewalk near the store’s entrance, striking two women who sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, one of the women was rescued by a bystander.

The situation took a more terrifying turn when Miller allegedly revved his engine and accelerated towards three more people. One person was hit by the vehicle and became trapped in the front of Miller’s car as it crashed through the store’s glass doors. Following the crash, Miller fled the scene but was later apprehended by law enforcement.

Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer commented on the incident, highlighting the grave consequences of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Spitzer emphasized the need for stricter penalties for impaired drivers, stressing that it is essential to address this issue seriously to prevent potential injuries or fatalities.

Deputy District Attorney Brian Perk of the West Justice Center is leading the prosecution in this case as authorities seek justice for the victims and hold the accused accountable for his actions.
