18-year-old found shot to death inside stolen vehicle

A male believed to be around 18 years old was found shot to death inside a stolen car in Rochester early Tuesday morning. The police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting and the auto theft.

Rochester police were called to Laser Street and Joseph Avenue around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, where they found a stolen Hyundai crashed into a pole. The male behind the wheel had been shot at least once and was the only one inside the car. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The car was stolen from Portland Avenue about two hours earlier, and the owner of the car was sleeping and unaware it had been stolen until police awoke her with a knock on her door.
