Worker shot while taking out trash at bar

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Late Sunday night turned violent for a 53-year-old worker at Charlie B’s Bar in Germantown when he was shot while taking out the trash. Authorities believe the shooter may have been lurking in wait for the perfect moment.

Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace explained the shooting occurred around 11:53 p.m. on East Chelten Avenue. The employee was struck by gunfire from a blue or dark-colored pickup truck as he stepped outside the bar.

Police discovered the man grievously wounded, with bullets piercing his chest and back. Uncertainty remains about whether these injuries resulted from one or multiple shots, according to Inspector Pace. The victim was rushed to a hospital and is in critical condition.

Initial reports suggest the attack happened right at the bar’s entrance, with bullets coming from a vehicle parked strategically across the street. Investigators are still working to determine if the attack was targeted or if it was a case of mistaken identity. Efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrator are underway.

As the investigation of the shooting continues, the surrounding neighborhood remains on edge. Residents are hoping for swift justice and answers to the case.
