Woman shot dead by estranged husband in murder-suicide

KATY, TX – Tragedy struck in Katy as a 35-year-old woman fell victim to a fatal shooting by her estranged husband. This shooting led to a murder-suicide incident, as confirmed by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The 41-year-old husband took his own life shortly after committing the heinous act, according to authorities. Their untimely deaths took place in the 3100 block of Upland Spring Trace at approximately 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday, prompting a swift response from sheriff’s deputies.

Upon their arrival at the scene, authorities discovered the lifeless body of the woman, who had succumbed to a gunshot wound, lying in the driveway. A 25-year-old woman, who had been subjected to a stabbing, was promptly rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

Deputies revealed that the violence transpired as the wife returned home from work. As she disembarked from her car, she was confronted by her husband, who tragically shot her in the driveway before gaining entry to the house, where he stabbed the 25-year-old victim. Thankfully, the second victim is expected to recover from her injuries.

Notably, three children aged 7, 13, and 16 were present within the residence at the time of the incident, but they emerged unscathed from the harrowing ordeal. Authorities located the husband roughly a mile away from the house, where he had taken his own life through a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

While there were indications of prior domestic violence calls involving the couple, these matters are currently under investigation, as stated by Sgt. Greg Pinkins of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The exact connection between the 25-year-old victim and the assailant remains unclear at this time.
