Eighteen people killed in bus crash

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO – A devastating bus accident resulted in the death of 18 individuals on the outskirts of Mexico City this past Sunday. In addition, 32 passengers suffered injuries, as reported by the civil protection agency of Mexico state.

The tragic incident transpired in Malinalco, a region situated in the southern part of Mexico state, which borders the capital city on three sides. The bus was en route from San Luis de la Paz, located in Guanajuato State in central Mexico, to the Chalma sanctuary situated south of Mexico City when it overturned on the highway.

According to the secretary of security for the state of Mexico, the impact of the crash was so severe that 14 passengers died instantly. The remaining four succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at a local hospital.

Images shared by local media outlets depicted a scene of community support, with locals providing water and blankets to the family members of the victims. In response to the tragedy, the state prosecutors’ offices of Mexico and Guanajuato have pledged their assistance to the families affected by the accident.
