Woman robs ride-share after she doesn’t get her way

HOUSTON, TX – A Houston woman is on the run after allegedly attacking and robbing her ride-share driver when he declined to take her through a fast-food drive-thru. The incident, which took place on September 6, was caught on surveillance cameras.

The footage reveals the woman and the driver outside a car in a parking lot, where the woman seems to pepper-spray the driver in his face. The driver, who works for a ride-share service, told police he had picked up the woman from Griggs Road.

He had dropped her off at a fast-food restaurant on Gulf Freeway when she asked him to use the drive-thru. When he declined, she reportedly became aggressive and hit him on the head. He asked her to leave his car, but she refused. He then went around to the passenger side and made her get out.

The woman was later seen going back to the driver’s open car and seemed to be looking through his things. Police say she took his wallet from the car. The driver said the woman hit him again and pepper-sprayed him. The video shows him covering his face as he leaves the scene.

The woman is seen reaching into the driver’s car, where she allegedly stole his wallet before leaving. Police describe her as a 20-year-old Black woman, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, wearing a gray shirt and green shorts. A grand jury subpoena has been issued to the ride-share company, and the Houston Police Robbery Division is trying to identify the woman.
