WILDWOOD CREST, NJ – A chaotic scene unfolded at a pool in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey, resulting in the arrest of a 43-year-old woman from Philadelphia. Accused of assaulting multiple individuals, including a child, and terrorizing guests at the Waikiki Oceanfront Inn, Fallan Turner now faces multiple charges.
Authorities arrived at the motel on Ocean Avenue Monday afternoon following reports of a fight at the pool. According to witnesses, Turner seemed “highly intoxicated” and had been behaving erratically in the pool. Allegedly, she grabbed an unrelated 10-year-old boy, swung him around in the water, and dunked him underwater. When the boy’s father tried to stop Turner, she reportedly jumped on his back and inappropriately grabbed him.
Turner continued to defy authorities, as she became belligerent when officers arrived to question her about the incident. Reportedly, she pushed an officer in the face while being handcuffed. Turner’s unruly behavior continued at police headquarters, where she reportedly bit an officer’s hand. Neither officer was seriously injured.
Turner is lodged in Cape May County Correctional Facility with a string of charges, including endangering the welfare of children, aggravated assault on law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and criminal sexual contact.
Wildwood Crest Police Chief Robert Lloyd expressed disappointment in the incident, lamenting the impact such incidents have on family-oriented destinations like Wildwood Crest.
