WHITE SETTLEMENT, TX – A dramatic police chase unfolded in White Settlement, Texas, ending with the arrest of a man accused of holding a woman captive for several days. The incident, which was caught on camera, has left the community in shock and relief.
Authorities reported that the ordeal began when a woman, visibly distressed, managed to call 911 from a Walmart in Westward Village just before 10 a.m. on a recent morning. She informed the dispatcher that she had escaped from a man who had been holding her hostage for at least four days.
Officers from White Settlement, aided by a local village officer, quickly located the suspect’s van. Dashcam footage captured the ensuing pursuit, which took officers southbound on Highway 183. The chase, lasting approximately two miles, ended when the suspect collided with two other vehicles.
Inside the van were a woman and children, who, fortunately, escaped without serious injuries. A pickup truck also involved in the crash had a driver who was unharmed. The suspect, identified as 52-year-old Reginald Jamison, attempted to flee on foot but was subdued by police using a Taser.
Jamison now faces multiple felony charges, including kidnapping and strangulation. He is currently held in Tarrant County Jail. Authorities revealed that Jamison has connections to Wisconsin and a prior criminal record, adding another layer to the investigation.
Interestingly, Jamison was already wanted in connection with a 2022 case in Wisconsin, which involved an officer-involved shooting under similar circumstances. This revelation has brought further scrutiny to his past activities and potential threats.
The police expressed gratitude for the swift response and the positive outcome, emphasizing the importance of vigilance in such situations. The community is relieved that the woman is safe and that the suspect is in custody, highlighting the effectiveness of coordinated police efforts.
As details continue to emerge, residents are reminded of the importance of community awareness and cooperation with law enforcement to prevent such incidents in the future.
