Two dead, three injured in targeted parking lot shooting

INGLEWOOD, CA – A violent shooting in Inglewood on Saturday evening resulted in two fatalities and left three others injured. The incident occurred around 4:40 p.m. in a parking lot close to the junction of Manchester Boulevard and 12th Avenue, as per the Inglewood Police Department.

The victims, all men aged over 50, were ambushed while sitting in a car in the parking lot. An unidentified vehicle approached and opened fire on them. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, while another succumbed to his injuries during surgery. The remaining three victims are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. One is in critical condition, while the other two are stable with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The scene of the crime was marked by a significant presence of police and fire crews. Eyewitnesses reported seeing several individuals being transported to ambulances. The victims’ car was left riddled with bullet holes and shattered glass.

Residents of the area expressed shock at the violent incident in what is typically a peaceful neighborhood. Cathy Joseph, a long-time resident and local worker, described the event as “out of the ordinary” for the area, which is primarily a business district and not a common hangout spot.

While the motive behind the shooting remains unknown, authorities have stated that they do not believe it was a random act of violence. The investigation is ongoing, with police actively searching for surveillance footage that may have captured the suspects. The westbound lanes of Manchester Boulevard were closed for several hours as crews were working to clear the scene. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released at this time.
