SEATTLE, WA – A late-night shooting on the Fourth of July left three individuals injured in downtown Seattle, sparking a police investigation and community concern over rising gun violence in the city.
Authorities responded to reports of gunfire at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Pike Street at 11:01 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Police administered initial medical aid until the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and took over.
One of the victims, who had been shot multiple times, was transported to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in serious condition. The second victim, believed to be an uninvolved bystander, also sustained serious injuries and was taken to the same hospital.
A third man reported the following day that he had been shot in the same area on July 4. He received treatment from SFD before being transported to HMC in stable condition.
The suspect fled the scene on foot, and despite an extensive search, police have been unable to locate him. Multiple shell casings were found and collected as evidence.
