Teenage boy murders his parents, tries to kill his sister

FRESNO COUNTY, CA – Authorities in Fresno County have revealed that a 14-year-old boy is in custody on suspicion of murdering his parents and attempting to murder his 11-year-old sister. Sheriff John Zanoni informed the media at a press conference on Friday that discrepancies in the boy’s report of a home break-in led to his arrest.

The incident, which transpired in the community of Miramonte, began with a 911 call on Wednesday night. The caller indicated that a break-in had happened, resulting in an attack on the home’s occupants. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered the bodies of the parents and their injured daughter. A 7-year-old sibling was found unharmed and is now in the care of other family members.

According to the teenager’s initial account, an unidentified individual had forcibly entered the home, attacked its residents, and then fled in a pickup truck. However, investigators noticed some inconsistencies that cast doubt on this narrative, resulting in the boy’s arrest, said Sheriff Zanoni.

Identified as Lue Yang and Se Vang, both aged 37, the parents’ cause and manner of death are still under investigation. Their critically injured daughter, meanwhile, is expected to make a recovery following medical treatment for her severe injuries.

The investigators are still examining the weapons used in the attack but suggested that some of them are not unusual in a rural setting like Miramonte, located in Sierra Nevada mountains. Meanwhile, the motive behind the tragic incident remains unclear, and there are no prior records of law enforcement responding to calls from this household.

The teenager, whose identity is withheld due to his minor status, is currently held at a juvenile facility under charges of murder and attempted murder. At the time of the press briefing, it was uncertain whether the charges had been officially set or whether the boy had legal representation.
