TAMPA, FL – A woman in her 30s and a teenage girl linked through family have tragically lost their lives in a double stabbing, according to details provided by the Tampa Police Department. The crime occurred on the 14000 block of Riveredge Drive and was reported to police just before 9 a.m. on Sunday morning.
Responding officers discovered a severely stabbed teenage girl and the woman when they arrived at the scene of the crime. The woman passed away at the location. The teenage victim was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to her injuries and passed away.
Authorities clarified that the victims were related to the suspect, whose identity remains withheld. They also confirmed that the case was under active investigation and no arrests had been made yet. The unsettling incident has led locals to be more vigilant.
Residents of the area have expressed their alarm at the violent occurrence, with one local, Noah Berkman, reporting that it had disrupted the usual sense of safety in the neighborhood. Zana Evans, whose housemate witnessed a MedFlight helicopter landing near the scene, extended prayers for the victims’ families.
