Police seeking a hit-and-run driver who killed a woman walking with her boyfriend

LOS ANGELES, CA – A woman tragically lost her life early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street with her boyfriend in the Baldwin Hills neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. as the couple was crossing La Cienega Boulevard near Obama Boulevard. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the woman was hit by a dark-colored Toyota Camry, which then fled the scene without stopping. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.

Sgt. Kevin Ahlemeir of the LAPD indicated that investigators are actively pursuing leads. “There is evidence left behind, so we’re doing some follow-up and further investigation right now,” he said.
