Pedophile teacher accused of abuse and assault after calling a 13-year-old student his ‘girlfriend’

A teacher from a school in Florida has been charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old student in his classroom. Davis Augustine Hodge Jr., 30, is facing four counts of criminal sexual conduct against the victim.

According to CBS News, Hodge is detained at the Miami-Dade County Jail. The police began looking into the allegations in January after the parents of the supposed victim contacted the West Homestead K-8 Center situated in Miami.

An arrest affidavit acquired by PEOPLE revealed that Hodge and the supposed victim, who was 12 during the time of the abuse, started exchanging text messages and Instagram direct messages in October of last year.

The affidavit states that the conversations started off as being about school, but then shifted and progressed into more intimate, sexual topics.

According to police reports, Hodge requested the alleged victim to start coming to his classroom on Fridays after school. He was the sponsor of the chess club and asked the victim to tell her parents she was staying for tutoring.

The young victim reported that Hodge had informed her that they were in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, according to the affidavit. According to the police, at least four sexual incidents took place between the pedophilic teacher and his student.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools declared that after the accusations against Hodge surfaced, he was removed from the school.
