Paramedic violated unconcious patients

VOLUSIA COUNTY, FL – A former paramedic has been arrested following a shocking revelation that has prompted law enforcement to call for potential victims to step forward. The case, which dates back three years, was uncovered during a separate investigation that revealed incriminating cell phone videos.

Authorities discovered footage showing James Melody, a former Flagler County paramedic, molesting an unconscious woman in an ambulance. The victim, completely unaware of the assault, was being transported to the hospital. The sheriff described the case as one of the most disturbing he has seen in nearly five decades of service.

Melody, 37, was on duty and in uniform during the assault. The video evidence clearly shows him setting up and adjusting the camera, capturing his face in the process. Sheriff Rick Staly did not mince words, stating, “This man should be held accountable to the fullest extent for his actions.”

The incident, which occurred in 2021, came to light when Daytona Beach police, investigating another sexual offense, found the videos on Melody’s phone. Law enforcement officials believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Trauma specialist Dr. Janie Lacy highlighted the difficulty victims may face in recalling such events but stressed the importance of reporting any suspicions. “Even if memories are unclear, it’s crucial to come forward. This can help bring justice and support to other victims.”

Authorities are asking anyone who believes they may have been victimized to contact the sheriff’s office for assistance.
