Ohio Mother Kills Four Family Members in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Tragedy struck a family in Ohio on Monday when Theresa Cain, 46, allegedly shot and killed her husband, Steven Cain, 50, their 13-year-old son, Ethan Cain, and her father, William Felton, 74, in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide.

The family’s daughter, Samantha Cain, 20, was also shot and remains in critical condition. The incident occurred in the family’s Ohio Township home when police attempted to serve an eviction notice to the family.

Deputies arrived at the home to serve the notice and heard gunshots coming from inside. Upon entry, they found the four family members dead from gunshot wounds. Samantha was still alive and transported to a nearby hospital. She is currently a student at Northern Kentucky University.

New Richmond Superintendent Tracey Miller issued a statement on the school district’s website, expressing sorrow over the loss of Ethan Cain. The statement described Ethan as a beloved student and acknowledged the deep sense of loss his death had caused.

The statement also asked the community to keep Samantha in their thoughts and prayers as she fights for her life.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched to help raise funds for Samantha’s medical expenses. As of writing, the campaign has raised over $30,000.

The shooting has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss of four lives. The incident remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet released any further details.
