Mom charged with the deaths of her twin toddlers

MIAMI, FL – Shirlene Alcime is facing charges related to the deaths of her twin toddlers, according to an announcement from the Miami-Dade Police. This distressing event originated from the discovery of the two unresponsive toddlers inside a van parked on the I-95 ramp to the Turnpike Extension at Golden Glades interchange in February.

At the time of the incident, Alcime was taken to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in critical condition. Her husband, Milson Cadet, identified the children as the couple’s three-year-old twins, Milendhere Gabriel Napoleon Cadet and Milenjhit Gabriella Napoleon Cadet.

Cadet had departed for work at 5 a.m. and upon returning home, he found no trace of his wife or children. His calls to his wife went unanswered, leading to fears for their safety.

Details from the police report indicate that a concerning call came around 2 a.m., describing a child in a vehicle who appeared unresponsive. Shortly afterward, a second call cited a similar concern for another child. Upon arrival at the scene, Miami-Dade police identified a female, believed to be the driver of the van, who seemed to have fallen over the railing to the on-ramp onto the railroad tracks.

Despite the efforts of medical personnel, both children were pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Regarding the initial report to the police, Detective Martin confirmed a passerby in another vehicle had made the call. Cadet reiterated his wife’s mental stability while expressing disbelief at the situation.
