Manhunt under way after nine people shot in crime ridden San Francisco

On Friday night, a localized, targeted shooting in San Francisco’s Mission District left nine individuals with injuries.

After 9pm local time, police arrived on the scene and medics transported the victims to nearby hospitals. Fortunately, all nine people are expected to make a full recovery. While the SFPD has yet to reveal what might have motivated the violence, no arrests have been made in connection to the crime.

Santiago Lerma, a legislative aid for District 9 representative, Hillary Ronen, was close by to the location of the attack with his 3 month old baby about an hour prior to the terrible incident transpiring. He soon heard the gunshots and expressed his distress and concern about what he had heard.

The Mission District is a cherished and colorful area in San Francisco. With its musical events, nightlife, and eateries, it’s a favorite among citizens and tourists alike. Following the shooting, the Police Dept. stated that there wasn’t any danger to the general public, and have subsequently launched a manhunt in order to locate the suspect.

The tragedy in San Francisco serves as a painful reminder of how quickly acts of violence can happen in any part of town. The city has really fallen under current progressive catch and release policies that have given the criminals a sense of invicinibility.
