Four children and two adults stabbed at the park

A man is facing accusations of a horrific knife assault on four children and two adults at a park in Annecy, France. He has been served preliminary charges of attempted murder.

The accused is a 31-year-old Syrian refugee with permanent residence status in Sweden. Consistent with the standard legal protocol, the suspect’s identity remains confidential at this stage of the investigation.

Line Bonnet-Mathis, the presiding prosecutor, confirmed that the suspect had been officially introduced to the investigating judges and that he is being held in custody for further probe into the case.

The young victims, ranging in age from 22 months to 3 years old, continue to receive treatment at a local hospital. The impact of the incident has spanned multiple nations, as the six victims come from four different countries—France, Britain, the Netherlands, and Portugal.

The accused was arrested at the scene. Onlookers who intervened aided the authorities in his arrest.

Henri, a 24-year-old hitchhiker, courageously stepped in as the horror unfolded before his eyes. Henri used his heavy backpack as an improvised weapon to fend off the attacker and prevent further harm.
