Man kills roommate, buries body in backyard

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man in Oklahoma City has been charged with first-degree murder after confessing to law enforcement agencies that he shot and killed his roommate. He also admitted to burying him in the backyard of their residence after the violent murder.

The 23-year-old, Juan Lopez-Aldana, came under scrutiny after two witnesses approached Valley Brook police. They claimed that Lopez-Aldana had shot their friend in the head and possibly concealed the body near Southeast 59th Street and Bryant Avenue.

Following their tip, officers located the body in the backyard of the property. During the subsequent questioning of Lopez-Aldana, he acknowledged that he shot his roommate during a physical altercation. He explained that the victim was adept with swords and knives, which drove his fear and subsequent reaction.

According to the investigators, after his friend’s death, Lopez-Aldana became fearful and bought a shovel for the purpose of burying the body. He also admitted to burying the clothes he was wearing while cleaning up the blood in an attempt to clean up the crime scene.

Oklahoma City Police Department officers unearthed the body after a thorough search. Lopez-Aldana has since been taken into custody and is currently held in the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
