FORT WORTH, TX – Fort Worth Police are intensifying their efforts to gather information and bring clarity to a shooting incident that claimed the life of a Mansfield resident on Saturday evening. As the investigation unfolds, police are urging any eyewitnesses to come forward and assist in pinpointing the person responsible.
The shooting occurred outside Lulu’s Lounge on the bustling corner of Miller Avenue and Richardson Street. Patrick Morgan, 60, was fatally shot while waiting in a vehicle as the driver made a quick stop for food. Fort Worth Police’s Brad Perez shared that Morgan was shot several times, and despite immediate efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although authorities are stopping short of concluding that Morgan was specifically targeted, Perez mentioned that the shots were clearly intended for the vehicle he occupied.
The manner of the attack- whether a drive-by or a walk-up shooting- remains under investigation, with police determining the most plausible scenario.
Investigators are collaborating closely with the driver present during the incident, aiming to piece together the sequence of events. They emphasize the vital role of public involvement, seeking information that could assist in identifying any suspect linked to the crime.
The search for surveillance video and eyewitness accounts is ongoing, as police actively reach out for leads. Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact the Fort Worth Police Department to aid in the investigation, as law enforcement continues to pursue justice for the deceased.
