Four family members killed, including two young children

NEW YORK, NY – A Brooklyn family is grappling with an unimaginable tragedy after four members, including two young children, were discovered dead in their home. Authorities have detained a 24-year-old man, suspected of fatally stabbing his mother, sister-in-law, niece, and nephew.

The grim discovery came late Friday night when emergency responders arrived at the apartment on the corner of Avenue P and West 8th Street in Bensonhurst following a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance.

The victims have been identified as Fayzieva Mavlyuda, 56, Maftuna Khakimova, 27, Kamila Shavkatova, 5, and Timur Shavkatov, 4. The children’s father, who survived the harrowing incident, was the first to find the bodies, according to family members.

The motive behind the brutal attack remains unclear, leaving the community and investigators searching for answers. The family, originally from Uzbekistan, has resided in the Brooklyn apartment for nearly a decade, neighbors said.

As the investigation continues, the neighborhood is left in shock, grappling with the sudden loss and the violent nature of the crime. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to help piece together the events leading up to the tragedy.

The suspect, whose identity has not been released, is currently in police custody as detectives work to uncover the circumstances and motive behind the killings.
