ATLANTA, GA – The body of Chanell M. Crosby, a 35-year-old woman missing since July 13, was discovered in a vehicle at the West End MARTA Station in Atlanta on Friday afternoon, concluding a week-long search.
Crosby was last confirmed seen in Atlanta, and a text message she sent on July 14 indicated she was in Macon, Georgia. Atlanta Police Department responded to reports at the West End MARTA station along Lee Street, where they found Crosby deceased inside a vehicle parked at the station.
The scene became the focus of intensive investigative activities as MARTA police and Atlanta police detectives searched for evidence. The Atlanta Police Department is currently leading the investigation into Crosby’s death. Details regarding the cause of death have yet to be disclosed as authorities continue their inquiry.
Crosby’s father, who was notified by the police shortly after the discovery, joined other family members and friends who are seeking answers in this tragic event. In a plea for public assistance, investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward.
This incident adds to the Crosby family’s series of tragedies, following the death of Chanell Crosby’s son, Jamiren, last year. The 13-year-old’s body was found on September 19, 2022, in the woods behind a home in a Lithonia subdivision, and his case remains unresolved.
The community and Crosby’s loved ones await further information as law enforcement works to piece together the circumstances surrounding her untimely death.
