COBB COUNTY, GA — A Cobb County man was arrested after his ex-girlfriend said he shot her near the eye with a BB gun while she waited at her son’s school bus stop, leaving her injured and requiring emergency surgery.
The woman, identified in a FOX 5 Atlanta interview as Miss Harris, said she had dated Cole Holloway for about 10 months before ending the relationship in July. She said she moved after the breakup and did not give Holloway her new address, but he later found her at the school bus stop. Cobb County police arrested Holloway after the encounter.
Harris said Holloway pulled up in a vehicle while she was waiting for her son’s school bus and pointed a BB gun at her. She said he fired, striking her near the eye. She later underwent a surgery lasting about two and a half hours to remove a BB lodged in her eye socket, according to the television station’s report.
Harris said the confrontation continued when she tried to call 911. She alleged that Holloway took her phone and began to drive away. Harris said she held onto the vehicle’s door window and was dragged as the vehicle moved. Police officers arrived during the incident, as did the school bus carrying her 8-year-old son, according to the report.
Holloway tried to leave as officers approached and resisted arrest, police said in information reported by FOX 5. Officers took him into custody, and he was booked into the Cobb County Jail. Authorities accused him of aggravated assault, hindering someone from making a 911 call and obstruction of law enforcement. The charges are allegations, and Holloway has not been convicted in connection with the incident.
Harris told FOX 5 that she had experienced problems during the relationship before the alleged attack. She said she ended the relationship and moved away, hoping to keep her new location private. Authorities had not publicly released a detailed account explaining how Holloway allegedly learned where she was staying or how he found her at the bus stop.
The injuries have continued to affect Harris after the surgery. She told the station that her vision remained blurry and that she did not know when she would fully recover. A fundraising page was established to help her family with medical expenses, according to FOX 5.
