LOS ANGELES, CA – O.J. Simpson’s former bodyguard has reignited controversy with claims of possessing an audio recording where the former football star allegedly confesses to the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. The bodyguard, who has a history as a gang member and cocaine dealer, first made these allegations last year, asserting that Bloomington, Minnesota police had the thumb drive containing the recording. However, investigators reported they never found such evidence.
At a press conference held in his attorney’s office, the bodyguard insisted he had the recording with him but refused to play it, citing an ongoing federal drug investigation. The conference, lasting 35 minutes, veered in various directions as he recounted his past life and claimed that Simpson’s confession contributed to his PTSD.
The saga began in 2022 when Bloomington police confiscated a backpack during an assault investigation. The bodyguard claimed one of the six thumb drives in the bag held the critical audio. Yet, police found no such recording.
During the Los Angeles press conference, the bodyguard was questioned about the recording’s existence. He confirmed having it but declined to release it, citing obstruction of justice concerns related to the federal investigation he vaguely referenced.
This month marks 30 years since a Los Angeles jury acquitted Simpson of the murders, although a civil jury later found him liable. Simpson maintained his innocence until his death last year at the age of 76.
Bloomington police stated they were unaware of the recent press conference and had no further information on the alleged recording.
The bodyguard’s claims continue to stir public interest, though no concrete evidence has surfaced.
