A shooting incident took place on Tuesday night near the Strat Hotel, Casino & SkyPod, located on the Las Vegas Strip, leaving one man dead with multiple gunshot wounds. The police described the incident as an “isolated crime.”
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers received a 911 call at 7:30 p.m. reporting gunshots.
A dispute began in a parking lot at an apartment complex, according to LVMPD. Several people were shown arguing with each other, but the officers did not disclose what caused the argument.
The responding officers went to the reported location, the 200 block of West Baltimore Avenue near Las Vegas Boulevard. When officers arrived at the scene, a female witness reported that her friend had been wounded.
She directed the police to her friend’s location in a parking lot near the casino, where her friend suffered and eventually died.
LVMPD continued the investigation and declared the incident a murder. The officers said they had not identified a suspect and had not made any arrests.
They also said the deceased man would undergo an autopsy. A local coroner’s office will probe the victim’s age, name, and suspect’s motive.
There have been different testimonies from witnesses, investigators said, and surveillance videos may provide more information.
