Dead body found outside of high school

SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI – A mysterious incident unfolded at Mackinaw High School in Saginaw Township, leaving authorities with unanswered questions. On Tuesday morning, the Saginaw Township Police Department launched an investigation into the discovery of a deceased man outside the school premises.

The alarm was raised when a concerned parent, in the process of dropping off their child, dialed 911 around 8:30 a.m. The caller reported an individual outside the school building on Shattuck Road, appearing to be in the throes of a medical emergency.

Police officers came to the scene to find the lifeless body of a man near the school’s signage. While investigators believe the deceased to be a 47-year-old homeless man known to frequent the area, his identity remained undisclosed as of Tuesday morning. Authorities have not identified any indications of foul play in the man’s demise. However, to shed light on the exact cause of death, an autopsy is scheduled.

According to Saginaw Police, surveillance footage captured the man’s arrival on foot at approximately 8:30 p.m. the previous night. He subsequently settled near the bushes, the same location where he was later discovered. Notably, the video footage showed no presence of other individuals in the vicinity throughout the time he occupied that spot.

Despite the unsettling incident, classes at Mackinaw High School proceeded as planned. The school, operating under Saginaw Township Community Schools, serves as an alternative high school in the area.
