GILBERT, AZ – A man and a woman were found dead inside of a home in Gilbert, Arizona. The disturbing discovery sparked an investigation by local police. The bodies were found overnight near Val Vista Drive and Ray Road. Reports confirm that the police officers were alerted to the area around 12:18 a.m., where they came across the deceased bodies of a 40-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman.
Authorities believe the incident was a murder-suicide. This conclusion was based on preliminary findings shared in an official statement. The authorities reassured the public that the incident is isolated, posing no threat to the surrounding community.
Local residents expressed their shock as police vehicles dominated the street and crime scene tape encompassed the home. Roland Morales, a 20-year resident, commented that occurrences had been rare in the area.
Another neighbor, Chad Thompson, echoed Morales’ sentiments over the discovery of the couple’s bodies. Thompson expressed his sadness over the tragic event.
While the identities of the victims were not yet publically confirmed by the police, neighbors claimed that the man had owned the home for several years. They added that the female victim involved in the incident was the deceased man’s most recent girlfriend.
