Two men recently entered a plea of ‘not guilty’ in response to the grand jury’s indictment that linked them to the deaths of a model and her companion in 2021. Christy Giles and Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola passed away in November 2021 after attending a gathering, never to return home again.
On November 13th of that year, three masked men in a black Toyota Prius without license plates reportedly dumped Giles, 24, and Cabrales-Arzola, 26, at two separate Los Angeles hospitals. The two women were said to have overdosed on drugs at a location on Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles.
On Tuesday, documents revealed that David Brian Pearce, 40, has been charged with murder and entered a plea of not guilty in court. Brandt Walter Osborn, 43, also entered a plea of not guilty to the two counts of being an accessory.
The accusation put an end to a potential court session that would have determined if there was enough proof to take the case to trial, the news outlet specified. Four months after the killings, the cause of death of the victims was established by two distinct reports from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office.
Giles passed away because of “multiple drug intoxication,” and Cabrales-Arzola succumbed to multiple organ failure from “multiple drug intoxication.”
The coroner determined that the deaths of the women were murders.
When she died, Giles had a lethal combination of cocaine, fentanyl, ketamine, and gamma-hydroxybutyrate acid- more frequently referred to as the date rape drug. Tests conducted on Cabrales-Arzola showed that she had cocaine and MDMA in her system, as well as other undetermined drugs.
Giles was immediately pronounced dead when she arrived at the hospital, while Cabrales-Arzola had lost consciousness and passed away on November 24. The following month, the Los Angeles Police Department declared the arrest of Pearce, Osborn, and a third individual known as Michael Ansbach, 47.
In July 2022, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office formally charged film producer Pearce and actor Osborn with the murders of Giles and Marcela Cabrales-Arzolain. It is currently unknown if any of the men has obtained legal representation to make a statement on their behalf.
