On Wednesday, officials reported that a 7-year-old boy from Manchester, NH, Jaevion Riley, had died days after being hospitalized due to alleged abuse from his father.
On January 17, emergency responders were called to the Eastern Avenue apartment of the boy, finding him unconscious and not breathing.
He was taken to a hospital in Massachusetts, and sadly passed away on Tuesday.
According to court documents, Jaevion had suffered from burns on 15-20% of his body and more than 30 loop marks with broken skin.
Peter Hinckley of the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office reported that the autopsy will be conducted by the Massachusetts medical examiner, but the results will not be available for a few months.
Jaevion’s father, Murtadah Mohammed, has been taken into custody, and is being charged with murder, assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and falsifying evidence.
