Woman killed in house fire, suspect arrested

STANTON, DE – A deadly house fire that claimed the life of one woman has led to the arrest of a suspect in Stanton, Delaware. The incident occurred in a residence on the 1700 block of Limestone Road on Sunday morning.

Emergency services received a call just before 10 a.m., reporting a house fire with an individual trapped inside. Firefighters arrived at the scene and encountered heavy smoke emanating from the home. A woman was discovered inside the burning building, and she was later pronounced dead. Her identity and cause of death have yet to be disclosed.

Eyewitnesses reported watching firefighters rescue the woman from the inferno. The Delaware State Police have initiated a death investigation in relation to the fire, and law enforcement personnel were seen gathering evidence several hours after the blaze was extinguished. Investigators were spotted using flashlights to examine the lower floor of the home and the garage.

Further inquiry in the case led to officers in tactical gear searching a red car near Summit Bridge, an activity confirmed by state police to be associated with the ongoing investigation.
