SCOTTSDALE, AZ – A tragic shooting incident in Scottsdale left a woman dead, shot by her husband, as affirmed by the Scottsdale Police Department. The accused suspect is David Zhu, who is identified as a professor at Arizona State University (ASU) who teaches in their business department.
In lieu of the heartbreaking incident, ASU conveyed its condolences in a statement, “Our condolences go out to all those affected by this tragedy.”
Police were dispatched to a residence near 136th Street and Shea Boulevard on Saturday evening following reports of a shooting. Upon arriving at the scene, a gunshot-battered woman was found by first responders. She was quickly transported to the hospital in order to receive treatment for her injuries. However, she succumbed to her wounds and passed away at the hospital.
Authorities also discovered two other individuals present in the house at the time of the shooting- another woman as well as a child. The identity of the deceased victim has not yet been publically disclosed as authorities continue on with their investigation.
Zhu was apprehended by the authorities on-site at the house. Amid the ongoing investigation, Scottsdale police assert that there is no residual threat to the neighboring community.
