Two Teens Wounded in West Harris County Shootout

Deputies said the 19-year-old neighbors exchanged gunfire from their driveways following an altercation Friday afternoon.

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — Two 19-year-old neighbors were hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds after shooting at each other from their driveways in a west Harris County neighborhood, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened Friday afternoon in the 5300 block of Tuglow Ravine Lane. Both teenagers were taken to a hospital and underwent surgery, investigators said. They were expected to survive.

Detectives said the two teens lived near each other and had been involved in an altercation before the gunfire began. Authorities had not released details about what caused the dispute or how it escalated.

The sheriff’s office said each teen fired from his own driveway. Investigators were working to determine the full sequence of events, including who fired first and how many shots were exchanged.

The names of the teenagers were not immediately released. Authorities also had not announced any arrests or criminal charges in connection with the shooting.

Investigators had not disclosed whether other people were outside when the shooting occurred or whether any homes or vehicles were struck. No additional injuries were reported in the initial account.

The case remained under investigation as detectives gathered evidence and sought more information about the confrontation. Any charging decisions would depend on the findings of that investigation.
