Two men filmed in violent robbery of hotel guest

HOUSTON, TX – A harrowing robbery unfolded at a Galleria area hotel, leaving a guest injured and shaken. The victim, identified as Brighton, recounted his ordeal at the DoubleTree on Westheimer, where thieves made off with cash, jewelry, and designer bags.

Brighton arrived at the hotel with a sense of unease. Despite requesting staff assistance, the perpetrators managed to breach security. Surveillance footage captures two men entering the lobby, poised for the attack.

According to Brighton, the suspects had been waiting across the street, observing his movements. As he pulled up, a white car swiftly parked beside him, raising his suspicions. He alerted the valet, advising them to check the vehicle’s occupants.

The valet assured him that security was on its way. A guard arrived, offering reassurances that all was well. However, the calm was deceptive. Once inside the hotel, Brighton believed he was safe, but moments after checking in, the attackers struck.

The confrontation was violent. Brighton feared for his life as the assailants overpowered him. He sustained severe injuries, including broken bones around his eye, necessitating imminent surgery. “I hope my vision isn’t permanently damaged,” he lamented, describing persistent headaches and blurred sight.

The thieves escaped with a substantial haul, including poker winnings Brighton had secured earlier that evening. As he recovers, he remains hopeful for justice. “It’s going to catch up with them,” he stated, expressing no desire for personal retribution.

Authorities have released images of the suspects, urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. The investigation continues as police work to apprehend those responsible for the brazen attack.
