LITTLETON, CO – A local man is recovering after allegedly enduring 14 hours of torture at the hands of his own roommates. Three individuals are now in custody, facing charges of attempted murder, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities became aware of the situation when the 45-year-old victim arrived at a hospital with severe injuries. He reported being beaten, burned, and whipped over a prolonged period. The Sheriff’s Office swiftly identified and apprehended the suspects after executing a high-risk arrest warrant at a home on South Oak Court.
Michael Jeffs, a nearby resident, described the scene as chaotic. “I heard sirens and then a cop on a megaphone telling someone to drop their gun and come out with their hands up,” he said. “I thought it was a drug bust, but I was shocked when I learned what actually happened.”
The victim had been living with one of the suspects, while the other two were associated with the residence. The motive behind the brutal attack remains unclear. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the reasons behind the assault.
“This was a case of extreme torture,” said a spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. “The victim suffered from kicks, beatings, whippings, and burns, but he is now out of the hospital and expected to recover.”
The home where the incident took place has a history of police visits for various complaints, though nothing of this magnitude. “We’ve responded to this particular home many times in the past, but never for anything like this,” the spokesperson added.
While three suspects were apprehended during the raid, a fourth individual mentioned by the victim in his statement to the police remains at large. Authorities are actively searching for this person to complete their investigation.
