MIAMI, FL – More than two years after a brazen armed robbery outside a luxury hotel, Miami police have apprehended three suspects believed to have orchestrated the crime. The suspects are accused of robbing a couple at gunpoint, making off with $30,000 in jewelry and cash.
Surveillance footage from June 18, 2023, captured a dramatic incident on the Bickl Avenue Bridge, where the suspects’ vehicle lost control and flipped onto its side. The video shows the three men fleeing the scene, leaving behind key evidence.
The robbery took place outside the East Hotel in Bickl. As a couple waited for their valet, Ronald Williams, Ronquz Williams, and Ron Juba allegedly approached with firearms, threatening to kill the victims if they did not comply.
The suspects sped away but soon crashed and abandoned the vehicle. Inside, investigators recovered a handgun, DNA, and a surgical glove. Crucially, the car was registered to one of the suspects.
All three men are now in custody, facing charges of armed robbery. Officer Michael Vega noted the pivotal role of the evidence left behind, which ultimately led to the arrests.
Neighbor Gallant Dill expressed relief at the resolution of the case. “I feel a lot better because I live in this area. I want to know that I’m safe,” Dill said.
The investigation’s duration puzzled many, with the case taking over two years to crack. Authorities revealed that the FBI’s involvement was necessary to process substantial evidence, and the suspects were already in jail on unrelated charges.
Police emphasize their commitment to ensuring safety in the community and promise continued vigilance in solving similar cases.
