FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Three suspects are now in custody after an intense chase and shootout with Fort Lauderdale police. The incident began when officers attempted to stop a vehicle linked to an armed robbery, leading to a dramatic series of events that unfolded in a residential neighborhood.
The confrontation started just blocks away from the police station when officers tried to pull over a car suspected of being involved in a recent armed robbery. As the police approached, the suspects opened fire, igniting a high-speed pursuit that ended abruptly when the vehicle crashed into a fence on Northwest Third Avenue near Sunrise Boulevard.
Robert Scott, 20, was identified as the gunman who fired 15 rounds at the officers. He, along with DeVante Mays, 20, and Myron Sinclair, 23, who was driving the vehicle, were quickly apprehended at the crash site. The suspects were immediately taken into custody and now face multiple charges, including armed robbery and attempted murder.
The neighborhood was rocked by the gunfire, with bullets riddling homes and causing panic among residents.
